An immense fungal blossom, towering over its surroundings. It pulses with a soft blue glow, continuously pumping its spores into the air.

This creature is a tank sized fungus. It's an awful fighter with insanely high hit points. It's as fast as you, clumsy, has high armor against bashing weapons and high armor against cutting ones (that includes bullets). Its special ability allows it to spawn fungal haze that stops fire, every 10 turns.

It has extremely high morale and it's totally aggressive. Being a fungus, it's afraid of being hurt, nearby fires, and can be angered by nothing in particular.

It has no distinguishable head (it's unaffected by head shots), is poisonous to eat (produces tainted meat when butchered), cannot move, doesn't breathe (it's not affected by smoke, toxic gases, drowning, etc), when it dies, local populations start to die off too, and nothing else.

Being made of stone, it's vulnerable to nothing in particular.

When it dies, nothing in particular happens.

(View - Edit Notes )Notes

One of these spawns in the center of every fungal flowers on the overmap. Every ten turns (one in-game minute) it will create a gigantic cloud of spores around it in a roughly 7-tile radius. Like their small cousins, the fungal blossoms, this cloud can cause spore infection without proper protection.

These blooms are the only place to find marloss seeds, which can be harvested by picking the marloss flowers that grow around it.

  • If you kill this monster, no new random fungals will spawn. The various fungal monsters can still create spores and infect others if they could before however.
  • Beware that you also need to kill any nearby fungal towers
