Hallucinating is a status effect that causes a character to see things. Hallucinations may start as the result of a craving for alcohol (rng(10, 1600) < intensity) or low-grade methamphetamine (5% chance and if 2d80+8 < intensity) with a high level of addiction. The Schizophrenic trait can also induce hallucinations frequently. The easiest way to experience hallucinations without going mad or ruining your health is to eat certain mushrooms.

Teleglow can also inflict hallucinations.

Hallucination sequences almost always have the same duration (six in-game hours), with the exception of mushrooms, which kick into action immediately and last four hours. When the duration is increased by another application of the effect, there is nothing new besides a longer period of "strange sense tingling". It is a somewhat hidden effect in its first stage (until the visual part begins), but there will be enough time and signs to take thorazine before you start to seeing little green fairotting cannibals or giant BEES, nah, it will be the most boring trip because you saw that already in your post-apocalypse reality without any drugs.

In the final stage, hallucinations decrease character's perception and dexterity by 2, and strength and intelligence by 1.

Vision will be seriously screwed and harmless (unless you are surrounded by their more-real partners) monsters start to appear in 10 radius with 20% chance at each turn, so do not waste your ammo on them like these stupid NPCs. The schizophrenic trait will provoke sudden visions without phantoms for 15-60 turns as well as regular six-hour hallucination sequences.
