A large 3x3 complex. May have a big private library, medieval armor and weaponry, pool tables, food supplies, a swimming pool, a greenhouse, or an art collection. The last sometimes includes mysterious unnatural objects (petrified eyes and vortex stones). However, sometimes it's nothing but massive dining rooms with leaky roofs.

Tips

Most players end up sealing off areas they don't use, lest critters get in. You can also find comfy furniture (couches, king-size beds, etc) here if you've gotten tired of your rollmat.

Mansions can also have swimming pools - which are a practically-inexhaustible source of water - and courtyards, which may give you a place to try farming with less worries about critter attacks.

Unfortunately, mansions also have plenty of zeds around, so you'll have to clean house before setting up. Further, mansions are wooden, so don't play with matches.

Apart from the general needs for any base, you should take into consideration for this particular one:

  • The pool can be boiled, but check the current status of farming if planning on using that for food. However, Mansions can occur in the middle of the woods, so you can find plenty of food that way.
  • For the first couple of weeks it's better to sleep on the second floor or in basement, because some unfinished zombies or forest creatures may wander into it.
  • Care should be taken near the lengthy window sections when fighting zombies (or anything capable of smashing the windows), as they act as wall supports for the roof. Substantial window destruction carries the risk of the roof collapsing.

Center tile can be used to start a faction camp.
