Crash sites are unmarked locations whereby you can find a 9x9 area of metal wreckage. These are widely believed to be the wreckage of downed helicopters, and as such often have military-grade loot trapped underneath, you might need a digging tool to clear the wreckage. Certain NPC quests can also send you to locate a black box, which can always be found here. The black box might also hold other secrets.
