Larval, pupal, and mature moths, butterflies, and flies provide easy and steady sources of meat.  Uninteresting to the zombies, numerous enough to handle losses to predators, and single-minded enough to thrive wherever they can, these insects  can fly away from danger and have begun to fill the gaping niches of the ecosystem.

Web spiders have received some small amount of attention in PRM.  Their dens, different from their webs, are underground caverns with uncommon and rare loot scattered around.  Flashlights, halligan bars, ammo, and various other uncommon loot is scattered below, under webs and the fresh egg sacks that mark their success.

Trapdoor spiders have received some attention in PRM as well.  Spawning in clusters with caves and webways underneath, the loot of the trapdoor spiders is every bit as useful as web spiders.  However, trapdoor spiders are more proficient combatants, have no man-sized access tunnels, and is better protected.
Trapdoor spider lairs can spawn in any field tile, and will spawn both close to cities and farther away.  They can be identified by bones, suspicious dirt mounds, and intuition.  Trapdoor spider lairs are littered with sinkholes which will damage vehicle tires.  sinkholes can be deleted if you dig a pit on that tile and then fill it.

Giant bees in PRM recieve minor combat buffs and en electric shockback.  The more 'noble' bees can even harness this innate ability and throw a shock charge. Due to this, they are deceptively dangerous.  Their hives are full of royal jelly, a substance which cures most ailments.  Royal honey can be further processed into a variety of medical concoctions.

PRM Faction: Insects

Somewhat a misleading name, the insect faction is more like the wildlife faction than any of the more organized factions. Creatures of this faction are at best loosely aligned; far more commonly they are actively hostile to one another. Insects are enlarged and mildly mutated terrestrial lifeforms.

In the coregame, insects are regulated to specific houses, randomly strewn into basements, as rare field and forest spawns, and as very common swamp spawns. They are in many cases easier to defeat once one has the skill to reliably hit them, but will wear down an unskilled or under-equipped survivor with their sheer determination. They posses no outstanding or special abilities except for possibly the ability to fly and walk over webs, their poisons, and their speed.

In PRM, insects gain acidic attacks and poisons. Some of them will occasionally begin constructing webs to help restrict their prey or predators, and a few gain further ability to emit fields. Their abilities are niche and do not always lend themselves directly to combat, but instead provide a sense of uniqueness to them that shows why such utilitarianism is desirable even after the apocalypse.

Rooster

Insects includes such things as l;and-based arthropods, spiders, cockroaches, caterpillars, mosquitoes, flies, bees, and wasps. Although ants are also able to be included into this category, they receive their own page.

The typical PRM insect is defined by moderate armor, low bashing damage, acid and poison attacks, high speed, large clusters of individuals, and poor vision.
