The tutorial room is the room where the tutorial takes place. The Tutorial of C:DDA spawns you into the Tutorial Room, which is square in the middle of a large lake, as "John Smith". John Smith starts with absolutely 0 stats, no clothing, a lighter (which will tumble to the floor since he starts with no storage), and the Quick trait. John Smith starts with 5 melee, 5 marksmanship, no clothing, a lighter (which will tumble to the floor since he starts with no storage), and the Quick trait. With a 0 swimming skill, you won't be able to carry much out given the lake.


Many actions performed in the tutorial world will produce an information box at the top of the screen, providing useful information to a new player. As of 0.E-3 and probably earlier, the info boxes may not appear when their requirements are met and sometimes appear without meeting the requirements.

As of 0.F, the lighter in the tutorial room no longer starts with butane inside of it. Here is an easy way to escape without lighter charge:
1. Get to survival skill 2. This will automatically unlock the recipe for the fire drill item.
2. Craft the fire drill item, and then stash everything else besides that into the underground floor, including breaking down the doors, smashing the display racks, and taking off the curtains on both floors, and bringing those resources down.
3. Light 4 adjacent walls on fire with the fire drill. The easiest spot to do this is one of the corners.
4. Get into the underground! Somehow, the fire above ground will not leak into the underground, unless you poured out fuel or something.
5. Wait until you can't hear the crashing of a burning building anymore.
6. Enjoy freedom!
The underground bug still persists in 0.F, but besides that, you may now enjoy your world!
