Toxic gas is a field effect that poses one of the larger hazards in mine exploration. Toxic gas can be emitted by gas vents, which can be found in mines. Toxic gas obstructs vision, in addition to the obvious health effects of breathing it. Wear a gas mask!
Density
- 8 - hazy cloud
- 8 - toxic gas
- 8 - thick toxic gas
Effects
Toxic gas eliminates all nearby scents. It dissipates faster in exterior areas. It has 1/2 chance of spreading.
A character in a tile with toxic gas 8 will be poisoned with a strength 5 for 30 turns. Creatures inside vehicles won't be affected by this. In a thick toxic gas 8 the character will be badly poisoned instead, also with a strength of 5 and for 30 turns. Staying inside a vehicle won't protect from the stronger effect.
Creatures standing in a tile with this field will suffer damage equal to the density of the current field, and have their movement points reduced by the density level of the field.
Creatures that don't breathe (such as zombies and robots) aren't affected by toxic gas.
