== Hi! ==
Hello, Dan! Are you the creator of this site? By the way I do like the logo design for this wiki, it's pretty cool. --

Discord channel

Hey DanmakuDan, I think you are the current maintainer/overlord of the wiki right? Which means you probably can edit the front page of the wiki (I cannot) Could you add a link to the discord of CDDA to the front page, behind the IRC information.

Something like this: [https://discordapp.com/invite/DPxUcX7 CDDA discord channel] should work.

That information should point discord users to the right channel.

The discord info is on the front page now. DanmakuDan (talk) 09:21, 7 November 2017 (MST)

Purging deleted usernames.

Hey DanmakuDan, I saw you deleted somebody with a certain nickname (a reference to a phone number an aol). Even that phone number linked is to the text AOL could already be enough information for google to slightly increase their google ranking. Perhaps we should also delete this information. Or just have the admin info only show up for logged in users on the recent change list. Not sure if that is possible though. --Soyweiser (talk) 08:09, 21 November 2017 (MST)

I added the Renameuser special page extension just now to rename them, but the original record is still in the recent changes since I blocked the user first. We can still back up the wiki and clear out the deleted revisions to reduce impact, since google is still tracking all those fake numbers if you specifically search google for the wiki spam words. Wiki version

Hey Dan (mind if I call you dan?) I saw the wiki was still running version 1.26.2, if you have time you might consider upgrading that, there have been a few security issues in older versions, and even 1.29 has already been declared end of life. Apart from that, thanks for hosting the wiki. --Soyweiser (talk) 07:16, 3 October 2018 (MDT)

I am going to test a backup of the wiki on another site to see if there are any issues with the upgrade. --DanmakuDan (talk) 09:00, 3 October 2018 (MDT)

I updated the wiki to 1.31.1, you can check to see if plugins are working normally, some of them were replaced with updated versions. --DanmakuDan (talk) 13:44, 3 October 2018 (CDT)

Login problems

Hey, for some reason when I login using firefox I automatically get logged out again. Which is a bit of a bother as I use firefox for my web needs. Any idea what is going on? --Soyweiser (talk) 21:27, 21 March 2019 (UTC)

Well wtf, when I login using incognito it works. --Soyweiser (talk) 21:32, 21 March 2019 (UTC)

It may be a side effect of the recent internal PHP updates on Bluehost, I haven't had time to figure it out yet. Basically, the database is failing part of a step on login. DanmakuDan (talk) 03:26, 22 March 2019 (UTC)

Looks like clearing the cookies for this domain fixed it. For some reason the existing cookies had incorrect settings and would not be sent to the wiki. DanmakuDan (talk) 20:22, 22 March 2019 (UTC)
Fixed it by deleting the cookies myself. I thought I had done so before, but I guess I misunderstood the firefox delete these cookies interface. --Soyweiser (talk) 16:19, 26 March 2019 (UTC)

Question

Hello, DanmakuDan! I have a question for you. Is it okay for me to do some grammatical error improvements and occasional anti-vandalism work on this wiki? My general goal around here is to ensure that this wiki is what it should be, a user-made encyclopedia, and not a playground for vandals. Hopefully, I'd hope for a chance to be part of the administration group so that I can block disruptive users and delete off-topic and nonsense pages. --Supernerd (talk) 14:48, 4 September 2019 (UTC)

Grammatical error fixes are fine. The vandalism is automated by networks of spambots with no obvious association. The abuse filter generally covers phrases used by bots in their talk pages, but there isn't a catch-all solution for them currently. There are around 3-30 failed attempts to post per day. There are a couple of spam posts that are entering the main namespace, but we can add filters there if it gets more annoying. We do have a Trusted Contributor group for enabling delete permissions, but spam pages have to be removed completely from user visibility just in case Google tries to index them. --DanmakuDan (talk) 03:50, 5 September 2019 (UTC)

Another question

How come that this wiki does not have an about page, a disclaimer page and a privacy policy page? At least there is a copyright page. It would be great and more of a higher standard for this wiki to have these pages created. --Supernerd (talk) 14:52, 4 September 2019 (UTC)

These pages never got set up in the first place, and a bot tried to use one for spam earlier. Probably something that can be added to the todo list. --DanmakuDan (talk) 03:50, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
