As they don't follow easily your step (like horses or cows may do) and the developers didn't program leading the animal by a leash (the tieing by a short rope just fixes them) you can't transform sheep to your home house place. Ironically their transport by van is thought of.
In case you happen to encounter a free running sheep not too far from your home base you could use a short rope as a leash to lead it home. Otherwise a hazard zombie would probably kill it in near future.

If your rural home even has a fence around the house: think twice to have lifestock in it. In case a [[portal storm]] happens while you are hiding inside the house, the violent attackers might kill your nearby animals.

Sheep produce wool only when butchered, and can not currently be sheared as of experimental game version 0.D-9196-g16728ff. Now in 0.F or later they can be sheared, there are even special shear tools.

They can be milked and produce 2 units of milk (0.5L).
