Template:Ver
What does this template do?
It automatically changes a version reference to the version given as an argument, and adds the page to that versions category. And it creates a link to the correct version page in the top right corner (as you can see in this page, the box with 'version' in it). Use this system to point out for which version of the game the current page was created. IF you fully update a page to a certain version, so all data applies to that version, add this template.
The plan is to use this template, so that users of the wiki can quickly see if a page is outdated or not, and how trustworthy any data is.
How to use
Just add
{{ver|0.A}}
to a page if you want to list it as being the correct information for version 0.A.
Currently it supports from version 0.5 up to version 0.G. And 0.G is currently listed as experimental, since at this moment 0.G is not out yet.
Please add the version template to the bottom of the page, next to any category definitions and headers is preferred. And if the page has a noinclude part, try to put the template in there, otherwise other pages can falsely get the version template included.
List of allowed arguments
unknown (or Unknown) 0.5 0.6 0.7 0.7.1 0.8 0.9 0.A 0.B 0.C 0.D 0.E 0.F 0.G 0.H
(or 0.I-dev)
Additional arguments
There is a secondary argument you can give, this text string will be printed under the version tag inside the information box. Here is an example how it should be used:
{{ver|0.A|Additional text}}
This additional argument should only be used sparingly. Using this to refer to specific builds is highly discouraged. (This information is subject to change, and specific builds' references tend to be confusing and paradoxically, imprecise, as there is no standard on how to refer to specific builds.)
What not to do
Do not reference to an experimental version directly. For example {{ver|experimental}}. As the game changes, todays experimental can be tomorrows release. If you directly mention something as being from experimental, in the future this will lead to the wiki being even more outdated.
The template contains a future reference to the next planned version. Just use that one as a link to the experimental version. Currently this is '0.G'. Using {{ver|0.G}} will automatically show up as 'Experimental'.
Don't add multiple ver templates to one page. A page can only have one ver infobox (and possibly a mod infobox).
