Small underground areas found in some houses and evac shelters. Shelter basements can contain assorted useful equipment for survivors in need, and make good places to set up a makeshift bedroom. Houses rarely have basements, but when they do they're almost always worth the time.

In a house's basement, you might find stashed drinks and food, weapons and ammo, marijuana grow rooms (in much better shape than the farms, incidentally), or perhaps home labs.
