Your skill in effecting emergency medical treatment. Higher levels allow better use of medicines and items like bandages and first aid kit components, and reduce the failure and complication rates of medical procedures. It affects the success rate of installing bionics with autodocs, and also the ability to recover bionics from dissecting the corpses of certain types of zombies.
Skill variance
Each item heals a variable amount of HP based on skill, and a static amount, based on the item. At low levels of first aid skill it is better to use first aid kit parts for healing. At higher levels, the skill based amounts add a lot more. See the table below. Bandages have been taken as an example.
