  • They can mimic all sorts of sounds and will fake human voices, gunfire, and klaxon sounds--presumably to lure you. It's not uncommon to find dead military or science teams with a (possibly escaped) mi-go nearby, so be careful!
  • Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's fiction, in particular The Whisperer in Darkness, where they are described as a race of fungoid, crustacean-like entities.
  • Automatic weapons, high-caliber rifles, shotguns, or explosives are effective against these monsters due to their high health, a single burst of fire from an automatic weapon for instance can damage the mi-go enough to either die or start running away, as they will get cowardly when wounded.
  • As of 0.E (Ellison) and onwards, mi-gos have been given a more major antagonistic role in the game, they can also spawn at mi-go scout towers and mi-go encampments, both of which are extremely dangerous locations filled with hot air saunas and smothering air, patrolled both inside and out by an ample number of mi-gos, which can rip you apart in seconds should they see you..
    • The player can also spawn in a mi-go camp in the Challenge-Mi-Go Camp scenario, either as a naked captive or an armed rescuer.
