Talk:Challenge-Really Bad Day

Nice guide - quite in depth. Though it contains some misconceptions - wetness and cold don't affect the flu and an infected wound can't be cured by cauterization (it's only for "blue" infected, not "green" infected).

By the end of the guide, you say that coffeemakers always spawn in coffee shops. Is it true even with 0.01 item spawn?

Two tips: you can use fire to kill zeds as long as it's not raining (fire damage doesn't depend on your speed) and you can acquire food from pine cones (pine trees don't use item spawn rules).

Also, welcome to the wiki.

About coffee shop - yes, it seems like it's true. At least I checked for 5 random coffee shops, and there are always coffeemakers. --Valiant (talk) 05:44, 28 February 2016 (UTC)

Good guide, but one fundamental flaw: an untreated infection can only be treated with antibiotics or royal jelly, it will not heal by itself, and always leads to your demise within 24 hours. AFAIK, antibiotics can only reliably be found in pharmacies and in the (locked) safe room of a doctor's office. With amphetamine withdrawal symptoms you won't have much time to go looking for those either.

The only roundabout to this (save superhuman bouts of luck) is to use the car to get to a pharmacy and pray there are antibiotics there. Then, run like hell out of town to get over the withdrawal.

Actually, an infection (not just a bite wound) can be removed with disinfectant and randomly (low chance) it will heal itself instead of killing the survivor. An untreated infection (not just a bite wound) has roughly 85% chance of killing the survivor without Infection Resistance (and much, much lower with it). --Coolthulhu (talk) 18:20, 31 March 2015 (PDT)
Thanks. The wiki claims that an infection will kill you in 24 hours and necessitates antibiotics. I have never been able to treat one with a first aid kit. Maybe it depends on the first aid skill? The wiki is a bit contradictory on this topic. --Mutant bum (talk) 18:30, 31 March 2015 (PDT)
Yeah, wiki can be outdated at times. Many mechanics were changed heavily, but not all of them got wiki pages updated. Some articles are quite ancient. Infection got nerfed and now you can heal it with first aid (95% chance of it working). I just (a minute ago) updated the first aid and infection articles to reflect that. --Coolthulhu (talk) 18:42, 31 March 2015 (PDT)
Note: the firstaid kit has been changed, now you probalby need components from disassembling it. --Soyweiser (talk) 16:52, 18 September 2018 (MDT)

Updated to reflect remarks by Coolthulhu and Mutant bum. --Valiant (talk) 05:53, 28 February 2016 (UTC)
