Modifications (or mods) can only be applied to weapons that use the handguns, rifles, submachine guns and shotguns skills. They can modify any parameter of a firearm and/or add new features to it (such as an auxiliary weapon).

To use a mod you need to apply it to the desired weapon, assuming you have at least 1 level in the firearms skill. A single weapon can only hold up to four modifications. You can easily check how many mods are attached to a weapon by examining its name: each modification will add a plus (+) sign to it.

All modifications can be removed at any time by Unloading the gun while empty (so, if the weapon is loaded, you'll have to unload it twice). You can also selectively remove a single mod by (a)ctivating the gun.
