Fungal blooms are actually the location of two entities: the fungal spire and fungal wall.
Fungal spires constantly spew out spores and thereby spawn fungaloids in the area and if applicable, fungal zombies and fungal insects. All of them can infect you with a nasty fungal parasite.
If fungal spire is destroyed, spawns of fungaloids in the area will become depleted eventually.
Marloss berries can be found in fungal blooms.
