Spawns blobs in the area.
You can go down into slime pits, but it is hard to get out. Loot is not much, except for the chance to find mutagen if you look around the slime inside, there are a LOT of blobs. The blobs can only be killed off with the death of their "queen"; the Brain blob, after which they will slowly disappear from that regional spawn pool.
