A wooden crate. It might have items inside of it - you can find out by examining it. If you have a crowbar, you can pry it open. Otherwise, you can deconstruct or smash it.
Crates of comestibles and clothing can be found in FEMA camps and LMOE shelters.
Supply drops left by the military can sometimes be found. They will contain 1-5 crates containing MREs, explosives, armor, or rifles.
