Notes
Cattail stalks are an excellent source of immediate food. They are extremely abundant in swamps. Cattail stalks may be cooked for a very modest meal, but may also be used as vegetable components in more advanced cooking. The rhizomes may be refined into flour, and the stalks themselves can be made into vegetable pies using this flour and cattail stalks, so you can make a cattail pie out of 100% cattails fairly easily. If nothing else is available, these may also be made into plant fiber for use as thread. As it takes 6 minutes for only 10 fiber at the cost of a stalk, you're probably better off using another material. Besides, most cattail recipes also produce at least some plant fiber as a byproduct anyway. In addition, the stalks can be made into cattail jelly for a fairly good disinfectant.
