Effects, or more precisely "status effects" are a variety of states set upon a character. They vary in nature, from malicious diseases, drug effects, to special tags.
Effects, depending on their nature:
- can be inflicted upon whole character or just a body part,
- have a duration, but in some cases may be perpetual and removed by some specific conditions,
- have levels of intensity (severity), which sometimes can be dependent on the effect's duration,
- can be visible or hidden from the player (in some cases both!),
- have their own mechanic or are informing of a mechanic in-action.
- can be also inflicted upon NPC's or monsters (AI tags)
