“ When the apocalypse broke out, you were funneled into a nearby shelter. Here you have lived, never leaving, lest the unknowns of the outside world hurt you. Supplies are running low, and for the first time since the cataclysm, you will be forced to face the outside world. ”

Scenarios are chosen during character creation. Scenarios allow the player to choose their starting location as well as other challenging or interesting variables that determine how the beginning of the game plays.

This scenario costs -3 points (negatives add to the pool) and affects the skill points pool in multiple pool character creation. Starting locations can be chosen at the final description screen in character creation with / and include LMOE shelter, Evac shelter, and no other locations. Starting conditions are adjusted by WIN_START, and no other flags.

Notes

• This is a very difficult scenario, as it starts in Winter, it is hard enough to get to and then through Winter in a normal scenario, it is even harder starting in winter as you have very few items to prepare for the season.
• Before you leave, look around your LMOE shelter (assuming you don't start in an evac shelter) see if you can grab a gun and ammo for it, which is likely as the LMOE almost always spawns some.
• As food is scarce during Winter, "what is best to eat?" You may wonder. check your food stocks, you are best to start eating healthy canned foods before any others; canned pineapple, tomato soup, mushroom soup, vegetable soup and chicken noodle soup to name a few, if you eat these first, you will have gained the health you need to heal better as the days go on.
