Asthma is a disease inflicted by the Asthmatic trait. For a character with this trait, there is around 0.03% chance per turn that an asthma attack will happen (the chance rises with stimulation level). If character has an inhaler and is awake and not underwater, then he or she will automatically use it to suppress the attack. In other cases, the character gains this disease for 50-200 turns, and will wake up if sleeping, or lose half of oxygen if underwater).

An asthma attack decreases character's speed by [duration / 5], strength by 2, and dexterity by 3.

If the duration is over 800 turns, the disease is display as Heavy Asthma. The character will die if the duration exceeds 1200 turns.

Beside an inhaler, an asthma attack can be removed with royal jelly.
