A plastic badge with an embedded film strip. The film strip changes color as it is exposed to radiation. Wear on your lapel so you can notice if it changes.

This is a very light clothing item made of plastic, which covers 0% of no area in particular, and which has no storage capacity. It doesn't occupy any significant space, doesn't encumber you at all, and will not warm you at all.

It offers no protection against bashing attacks and no protection against cutting ones (that includes bullets), while offering no protection from environmental hazards.

It has no extra particularities.

This clothing item can be repaired, fitted (if appropriate) and reinforced via the mechanics skill, by using a soldering iron and plastic chunks.

Notes

  • The radiation badge cannot be examined directly for its color - it will notify you if it changes.
  • This item can be characterized as one-use - once you enter radioactive area and badge gains blue color - it will retain it, even if you leave the area. This can potentially endanger its user because lower radiation levels can go unnoticed.

Film strip color codes:

  • Green = less than 30 rads, but more than 0.
  • Blue = 30-59 rads.
  • Yellow = 60-119 rads.
  • Orange= 120-239 rads.
  • Red = 240-499 rads.
  • Black = 500+ rads.
