"One of your fingers has an electrohack embedded in it; an all-purpose hacking unit used to override control panels and the like (but not computers). Skill in computers is important, and a failed use may damage your circuits." |
This bionic allows the user to hack certain devices (not computers) without the assistance of an ID card or an electrohack. The user must have a high computers skill to increase the chances of successful hacking. It consumes 1 power per use. It is similar to an electrohack, but gives additional one point bonus to success rate and cannot be broken upon critical fail, instead it will drain your power.
Since almost all card readers are in labs and missile silos, this bionic may not be worthwhile, especially because of the sheer abundance of ID cards, which you can find in squads of dead scientists. And you will usually find your first ID card when you can find your first bionic.
(Map Extras, like dead scientists or soldiers, have become more rare, making it possible that this bionic is more valuable.)

"One of your fingers has an electronic lockpick embedded in it. This automatic system will quickly unlock all but the most advanced key locks without any skill required on the part of the user." |
This bionic allows you to enter a locked door without the assistance of blunt force or a crowbar. That costs 40 moving points.
Although it is handy, its effects are mostly superseded by a crowbar (which also functions as a melee weapon and is far more common).
In future versions, locked doors may be more common or certain doors may be unable to be crowbar-d open. This bionic is currently almost useless, but may become valuable in the future.
