This creature is a dog sized robot. It's an awful fighter with moderate hit points. It's slower than you, clumsy, has very high armor against bashing weapons and very high armor against cutting ones (that includes bullets). Its special ability allows it to nothing, every 2 turns.
It has extremely high morale and it's totally aggressive. Being a robot, it's afraid of nothing in particular, and can be angered by nothing in particular.
It can see, can hear noises, can bash destroyable objects in its way (like doors), can be damaged by EMP blasts and become friendly, doesn't breathe (it's not affected by smoke, toxic gases, drowning, etc), walks around some dangerous terrain and traps, makes a lot more noise while moving, and nothing else.
Being made of steel, it's vulnerable to electricity.
When it dies, it explodes.
(View - Edit Notes )Notes
- Formerly known as the secubot
- A security bot is a dangerous ranged combatant wielding an automatic 9mm machine gun. It can easily dispatch lightly armored players.
- The security bot is best dealt with indirectly. Here are two ways to defeat it:
- The simplest way to defeat it in close quarters, is to put bulletproof glass between it and yourself, and allow it to harmlessly expend all of its ammunition trying to shoot you (you will know it is out of ammo when it makes a "click click" sound). This renders it mostly harmless, since it is slow and deals unimpressive melee damage. Bulletproof glass can be found protecting the valuables in most of the "finale" rooms of science labs, which is where you are most likely to find security bots anyway. An out-of-ammo security bot can often be simply left alive and run away from.
- If there is no bulletproof glass at hand, another way to defeat it is to bring it into contact with a manhack or skitterbot, both of which will fight with the security bot as long as they are not currently tracking you. You can "shake off" a skitterbot--or especially the flighty manhack--by leading them to the desired spot and disappearing out of their line of sight (e.g. around a corner).
