This creature is a cow sized nether inhabitant. It's a very competent fighter with extremely high hit points. It's a bit faster than you, agile, has low armor against bashing weapons and high armor against cutting ones (that includes bullets). Its special ability allows it to say nonsensical and disturbing things, every 0 turns.
It has low morale and it's quite aggressive. Being a nether inhabitant, it's afraid of being hurt, and can be angered by nothing in particular.
It can see, is able to smell characters, can hear noises, is warm blooded (it appears in infrared), can bash destroyable objects in its way (like doors), is poisonous to eat (produces tainted meat when butchered), doesn't breathe (it's not affected by smoke, toxic gases, drowning, etc), bleeds hemolymph, can produce fat when butchered, walks around most dangerous terrain and traps, smartly selects targets to attack, and nothing else.
Being made of flesh, it's vulnerable to nothing in particular.
When it dies, nothing unusual happens.
(View - Edit Notes )Notes
- They can mimic all sorts of sounds and will fake human voices, gunfire, and klaxon sounds--presumably to lure you. It's not uncommon to find dead military or science teams with a (possibly escaped) mi-go nearby, so be careful!
- Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's fiction, in particular The Whisperer in Darkness, where they are described as a race of fungoid, crustacean-like entities.
- Automatic weapons, high-caliber rifles, shotguns, or explosives are effective against these monsters due to their high health, a single burst of fire from an automatic weapon for instance can damage the mi-go enough to either die or start running away, as they will get cowardly when wounded.
- As of 0.E (Ellison) and onwards, mi-gos have been given a more major antagonistic role in the game, they can also spawn at mi-go scout towers and mi-go encampments, both of which are extremely dangerous locations filled with hot air saunas and smothering air, patrolled both inside and out by an ample number of mi-gos, which can rip you apart in seconds should they see you..
- The player can also spawn in a mi-go camp in the Challenge-Mi-Go Camp scenario, either as a naked captive or an armed rescuer.
