This creature is a human sized ZOMBIE, HUMAN. It's a competent fighter with very high hit points. It's as fast as you, quite clumsy, has no armor against bashing weapons and no armor against cutting ones (that includes bullets). Its special ability allows it to resurrect corpses into skeletons, every 0 turns.
It has extremely high morale and it's mostly aggressive. Being a ZOMBIE, HUMAN, it's afraid of ZOMBIE, HUMAN, and can be angered by ZOMBIE, HUMAN. It can also be angered by being hurt, when the player gets within a few tiles, when the player looks hurt.
It can see, can hear noises, is able to smell characters, stumbles around, is warm blooded (it appears in infrared), can bash destroyable objects in its way (like doors), is poisonous to eat (produces tainted meat when butchered), doesn't breathe (it's not affected by smoke, toxic gases, drowning, etc), resuscitates after a few hours (unless its corpse is either smashed to a pulp or butchered), can produce bones and sinews when butchered, walks around some dangerous terrain and traps, smartly selects targets to attack, and nothing else.
Being made of flesh, it's vulnerable to nothing in particular.
When it dies, nothing unusual happens. If it is burned to death it can transform into a scorched zombie.
(View - Edit Notes )Notes
A zombie necromancer will resurrect nearby dead zombies. The time it takes to do so depends on the maximum health of the dead zombie and the condition of the body. Burnt or heavily mutilated bodies will take longer to raise than bruised ones. In the dark you may not even be aware of its existence at first.
Because of the speed which they can revive zombies they need to be taken out as quickly as possible. If you are faced with a Necromancer surrounded by large amounts of zombies, a good strategy to dealing with one is to lure small or individual numbers of Zombies away from the Necromancer without entering his detection radius (when listing items and monsters with V, it will show him as 'tracking', but he does not actively move towards the player until within ~25 tiles) and killing them, Smashing or Butchering the corpses so he cannot resurrect them. Eventually you will have thinned their numbers enough to make a rush directly for him with limited numbers of zombies in the way.
Even without any zombies for them to revive to support them, zombie necromancers are strong opponents and can easily kill an underprepared or low leveled player.
