This creature is a human sized ZOMBIE, HUMAN. It's a competent fighter with moderate hit points. It's slower than you, quite clumsy, has no armor against bashing weapons and no armor against cutting ones (that includes bullets). Its special ability allows it to either shock, shoot radioactive beams from its mouth, release a manhack, throw a flask of acid or do something harmless, every 20 turns; perform a special scratch attack, every 20 turns.
It has extremely high morale and it's totally aggressive. Being a ZOMBIE, HUMAN, it's afraid of ZOMBIE, HUMAN, and can be angered by ZOMBIE, HUMAN.
It can see, can hear noises, is able to smell characters, stumbles around, is warm blooded (it appears in infrared), can bash destroyable objects in its way (like doors), is poisonous to eat (produces tainted meat when butchered), its attacks can make you bleed, can drop one or two high-tech bionics when dissected, is immune to acid, doesn't breathe (it's not affected by smoke, toxic gases, drowning, etc), resuscitates after a few hours (unless its corpse is either smashed to a pulp or butchered), can produce bones and sinews when butchered, can push creatures out of its way, walks around most dangerous terrain and traps, smartly selects targets to attack, and nothing else.
Being made of flesh, it's vulnerable to nothing in particular.
When it dies, nothing unusual happens. If it is burned to death it can transform into a scorched zombie.

- Usually found inside science labs. Successfully dissecting a zombie scientist can yield bionics, so experienced players generally regard zombie scientists as a valuable target.
- It usually drops valuable loot, like many science related tools/chemicals/books, and their wallets can sometimes have contents that can allow you entrance/guide you to their original work places...
- As of 0.D (Danny) it can only spawn 3 manhacks.
- As of 0.E (Ellison), zombie scientists no longer have special attacks, but do path intelligently and open doors.
- As of 0.F (Frank), it can no longer open doors. Ability to open doors remain in the Zombie necromancer, Zombie master and all of the Mi-Go faction
- As of the post-0.G experimental version, it no longer yields bionics when dissected.
