 A sluglike creature, eight feet long and the width of a refrigerator. Its black body glistens as it oozes its way along the ground. Eye stalks occasionally push their way out of the oily mass and look around. 

This creature is a cow sized mutant. It's a competent fighter with insanely high hit points. It's very slow, extremely agile, has low armor against bashing weapons and no armor against cutting ones (that includes bullets).

It has extremely high morale and it's totally aggressive. Being a mutant, it's afraid of nearby fires, and can be angered by nothing in particular.

It has no distinguishable head (it's unaffected by head shots), can see, is poisonous to eat (produces tainted meat when butchered), can hear noises, regenerates over time very quickly, is able to smell characters, ignores the effects of sludge trails, leaves a trail of sludge, can swim, can be set on fire, burn, and it can set on fire nearby objects, does not leave any remains (body pieces) when blown apart, and nothing else.

Being made of flesh, it's vulnerable to nothing in particular.

When it dies, it melts away.

  • Its most notable feature is its high regeneration, which can make it nearly impossible to kill for a new survivor. Its sludge trail exacerbates this, slowing you down and giving it more time to regenerate.
  • This is, if handled properly, more of a pest than a serious foe; it cannot break through doors or windows, nor is it particularly good in attacking or fast at catching up to the player. If it is trying to get in your base, just lead it away from the base - so it doesn't slime up the area - and direct its attention to another creature.
