The timber rattlesnake is the most venomous viper native to New England. Climatic changes have extended its range far into the north.

This creature is a squirrel sized reptile. It's a competent fighter with very low hit points. It's a bit slower than you, quite clumsy, has no armor against bashing weapons and no armor against cutting ones (that includes bullets). Its special ability allows it to make rattling noises, every 6 turns.

It has moderate morale and it's peaceful. Being a reptile, it's afraid of being hurt, nearby fires, and can be angered by nothing in particular. It can also be angered by being hurt. Its anger is reduced by when the player looks hurt. It's also afraid of when the player gets within a few tiles.

It can see, can hear noises, is able to smell characters, its attacks can severely poison you, is very hard to shoot at (some hits are treated as misses), can swim, can produce leather when butchered, can produce bones and sinews when butchered, and nothing else.

Being made of flesh, it's vulnerable to nothing in particular.

When it dies, nothing unusual happens.

(View - Edit Notes )Notes

Despite this creature having bad venom and a special ability to rattle, this creature does not actually attack the player in the game, and will in fact try to slither away if attacked.
