One of the vesper bats, a family of winged insect-eating mammals. It roosts in caves and other hollows, and uses a form of echolocation to aerially navigate through tricky terrain at rapid speeds.

This creature is a squirrel sized mammal. It's a competent fighter with very low hit points. It's way faster then you, extremely agile, has no armor against bashing weapons and no armor against cutting ones (that includes bullets). Its special ability allows it to bite you, and sometimes bite you nastily, every 0 turns.

It has very low morale and it's quite peaceful. Being a mammal, it's afraid of being hurt, nearby fires, nearby monsters of the same type dying, and can be angered by nothing in particular. It's also afraid of loud noises, when the player gets within a few tiles.

It can see, is able to smell characters, can hear noises, is able to track noises particularly well, is warm blooded (it appears in infrared), can fly over water, traps, fire and acid, is considered an animal (it's affected by animal empathy), has a reduced vision range (10 tiles less than normal), can produce bones and sinews when butchered, can produce leather when butchered, can produce bones and sinews when butchered, and nothing else.

Being made of flesh, it's vulnerable to nothing in particular.

When it dies, nothing unusual happens.
